Taking a vacation or away for the weekend? Neighborhood Watch has got you covered. When you're gone, Neighborhood Watch is your best protection against theft. Let your block captain (listed in your directory) and your next door neighbor know when you go.

We need volunteers for the Watch. It's easy to do. Take couple of trips around the neighborhood, either during the day when many homes are vacant or in the evenings, especially weekends. We don't adhere to a schedule because we don't want to be predictable. No need to do it in the middle of the night. Call your block captain today and help keep the 'hood safe.

Jim Giammo, NW coordinator for Surrey Square, is looking for a volunteer Block Captain for Babson Court. Call him @ 703.978.4946.

For general information, call Jim, or for Olde Forge, call Paula McKinley @ 703.323.7038.

Next time you drive into the neighborhood, check your speedometer. Twenty-five mph is likely slower than you think. With summer come more children in the street. Please come to a full stop at STOP signs. It's easy to get into the habit of drifting through those STOP signs coming out of your cul-de-sac.
